Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Halloween Party. Please check the special person calendar to see if you signed up to bring our party snack. (Do not send individual snacks with your child on this day...there is always plenty to choose from our large group snack. Those who signed up, are not expected to stay. We set our party days up without the need of an extra adult helper. If, however, you were hoping to stay, we never turn you away! Our door is always open. The morning group will be doing a parade through the classrooms around 9:00. The afternoon group will join the entire school for their parade which will take place in the hallways around the gym, and through the gym, starting at 12:45. Please bring your child already in their costume. We do not have lots of extra time in our day to be helping the kids get into costume. We look forward to seeing all the costumes tomorrow!

Picture Retakes will be happening on Monday October 17 - please let your teacher know if your child needs these. Often the kids believe they do, but they don't. Please talk directly to your teacher.
Hello Parents! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! We have not received all of our skating forms back. Please touch base with your child's teacher tomorrow, Wednesday, to make sure we know who or if an adult is attending on Thursday. We have a few extra pair of skates, but not enough for everyone. If your child is needing to borrow skates, please have this discussion with your teacher tomorrow to give us time to fit the children for skates. If you feel like you have mentioned it in passing, please touch base again, as we often have many passing conversations amongst our 42 families and it is quite easy to forget. An email works too, but remember we do not often get time in our day to check our emails, as we are in front of the kids almost the entire day.
Thanks again! We know this takes some effort on the part of the families to attend and organize. The benefit and growth your children get from this time is quite remarkable. Your efforts are much appreciated! By now I’m sure you have noticed your child’s ‘Sound Pack’ in his/her backpack. We will continue to add sounds (about 3 per week) to this pack. For this reason, it is important to store the Sound Pack (the baggie that has the little colouring sheets) in your child’s backpack. Feel free to take it out to practice the sounds and make words as often as you like. Your child has been told that this pack ‘lives’ in their backpack. Please help them develop responsibility in this area.
Kindergarten skating is October 13 and 27, November 17, and December 1. On each of these days we will be taking a trip to Nicholas Sheran arena to skate together! Parent/adult helpers will meet students at the rink. It will be a huge help if parents could bring their child’s skates and supplies to the rink rather than children bringing them to the school.
We plan to be gone from school from: (approximately) MORNING CLASS 9:30am-10:30am AFTERNOON CLASS 1:00pm-2:00pm Siblings are welcome as long as they are fully supervised and have SKATING helmets. Each child needs to bring their own pair of skates. NO CHILD (including siblings) WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE ICE WITHOUT A PROPER SKATING (HOCKEY) HELMET. If your child does not have a helmet, the school does own some that can be borrowed. If you are unable to get skates for your child, please let me know ASAP. |
